Shakira M. Brown, CEO of SMB Strategic Media LLC and Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee member has been invited to be among the seasoned speakers during the annual National Association for Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) Claims Conference (https://www.namic.org/edu/claims) taking place at The Wigwam, a historic AAA four- diamond golf resort and spa in Litchfield Park, Arizona from February 13-15, 2019. Brown will be among 25 subject matter experts tapped to address over 300 mutual insurance industry professionals from claims departments as well as products ad solutions providers. Around for more than 120 years, NAMIC is the largest property/casualty insurance trade association with more than 1,400 member companies serving more than 170 million auto, home, and business policyholders. NAMIC member companies write $253 billion in annual premiums, and have 54 percent of homeowners, 43 percent of automobile, and 35 percent of the business insurance markets. Brown, an award-winning branding and business communications strategist, will be leading a talk for management level pros to be come more effective leaders during the conference.

“It’s exciting to be headed back to the Phoenix area, one of my favorite spots in the country, as an invited speaker during this NAMIC Claims Conference,” said Brown. “One of things I have noticed most while speaking around the nation at a myriad of conferences is that there is a lack of value in the relevance of verbal communications which seems to be root cause of some the common issues that many organizations face today. I’m pleased to be able to share my insights to encourage companies of all sizes to not to get lost in the digital world we live in.”

On February 14, 2019, Brown will be leading a 60-minute session on leadership communication skills to help managers optimize their performance. Attendees of her lively discussion can expect to leave with an understanding of the primary elements of effectively listening and communicating as a leader to cultivate stronger connections with internal and external stakeholders to reach their goals.

If you are curious, Brown recently shared a blog post on her firm website on how effective listening can help lead to innovation. Check out the post here: https://www.pradviser.net/single-post/2019/01/02/Innovate-by-Encouraging-Effective-Listening
